Court Action Heats up for the Summer

Court Action Heats up for the Summer

By Mark Jenkinson, Match Secretary

As we approach the end of the winter league, there’s a lot to look forward to this summer. Our most successful team in the winter league was the Ladies 1st Team. They’ve already had one win and a draw to the good with still one more match to play!

In the summer leagues – due to start in May – TwistFizz is fielding five adult teams, albeit with slightly different competition formats.

If you prefer to just play doubles, we have two teams in the Kent HEAD Inter-Club Leagues Summer 2022:

  • Men’s doubles – Captain Vlad Sovetkin
  • Mixed doubles – Captain Mark Jenkinson

For each match, you’ll play two doubles rubbers, each two sets plus a deciding championship tie-break (if needed).

If you prefer to play singles and doubles then we have entered three teams in the LTA National League – Kent, summer 2022:

  • Ladies – Captain Agnieszka Bird
  • Men’s – Captain Mark Jenkinson
  • Mixed – captain Tac Steward

Each match consists of four singles rubbers followed by two doubles rubbers.  If you don’t feel up to playing both a singles and a doubles rubber, we are able to field six players.  As with the Inter-Club League, each rubber is two sets plus a deciding championship tie-break (if needed).

If you’d like to play, then contact the respective captain or TwistFizz coaching team and sign up for Monday’s training session.

Here’s to a successful and enjoyable summer!
